Key revisions in Article 690 (Solar Photovoltaic Systems), Article 705 (Interconnected Power Production Sources), and Article 706 (Energy Storage Systems) directly impact plan review approvals and field inspection passes.

1. Rapid Shutdown Revisions (NEC 690.12)

Rapid shutdown requirements have been refined to harmonize array-boundary voltage drops with emergency responder protocols:

• Initiation Device Location: Must be located on the exterior of the building in a readily accessible position or integrated with the main service disconnect.
